Miley Cyrus’s Something Beautiful era has officially commenced. On March 31, the multihyphenate surprised dropped not one, but two (!!!) visuals from her upcoming album. “Prelude” and “Something Beautiful” mark the first visuals for her latest musical era.
The spoken-word soliloquy sets the scene for the hitmaker’s highly anticipated ninth album. The video, which is directed by Miley, Jacob Bixenman, and Brendan Walter, shows stunning visions of blooming flowers and streaming raindrops as Miley recites the lyrics flashing on the screen. At the end, she’s seen shimmering in the same Mugler look she dons on the album art.
As for the title track of her album, it starts slow as she croons, “Tell me something beautiful tonight / Until your lips turn blue,” and ultimately builds up to a metal-inspired breakdown.
The song is a departure from the disco-dance sound of her megahit, “Flowers.” Instead, Miley dances between a soothing jazz-driven arrangement and a chaotically delicious take on her signature rock-and-roll glamour.
Something Beautiful officially drops on May 30, with its film following suit in June. Watch the official music video and dive into the full lyrics for Miley Cyrus’s “Something Beautiful” below.

[Verse 1]
Tell me somethin' beautiful, yeah, tonight
Until your lips turn blue
Said I don't wanna talk about it for too long
Baby, now I think I do
Ah, water to red wine, kissin' to kill time
Oh my, yeah
Ah, watching the doves cry into the sunrise
[Pre-Chorus]
Oh, flash, bang, spark
Send home the guards and lay down your arms
And da, da-da-da, da-da
The great golden bomb, bomb, bomb
[Chorus]
Boy, I'm losin' my breath, yes
Boy, you're markin' up my necklace
Boy, I'm losin' my breath
I'm undressin', confessin' that I'm so obsessed, yes
[Verse 2]
Tell me somethin' beautiful, yeah, about this world
When I'm in your palm, I'm like a pearl
Tell me somethin' I can hold on to, you're who I belong to
I drown in devotion (Devotion) as deep as the ocean (The ocean)
So don't let me go, no, no, no
[Pre-Chorus]
[Chorus]
[Outro]
Eat my heart, break my soul
Take my parts, let me go
Eat my heart, break my soul
Take my parts, let me go
Eat my heart, break my soul
Take my parts
